The appointment system operates both for your convenience and to aid the doctors. An appointment is for one person only unless agreed with the doctor beforehand. You may see any of the doctors in the practice, not just the one with whom you are registered. You will be offered the first available appointment.
Genuinely URGENT cases will be fitted in the same day, but not always with the doctor of your choice.
In the event of you not being able to keep your appointment, as much notice as possible should be given. There is normally a high demand for appointments and failure to notify your inability to attend inconveniences both the practice and the other patients.
If you need to see a doctor the same day or require URGENT attention please let the receptionist know. You will be given an appointment with whichever doctor is available. Emergency appointments are NOT for conditions that could be seen routinely.
All the doctors have both morning and evening surgeries during the week. Please ask the receptionist for details.
If you need to speak to a doctor on the telephone, you should ring the surgery before midday. Please be prepared to give the receptionist some information which will help them to allocate a telephone slot with the most appropriate doctor or they may be able to deal with your query some other way. If you have to speak to a doctor, they will ring you back sometime during the day, though no specific time can be given.
The reception is manned throughout the surgery opening times and a member of staff will always be available to speak to you.
If your illness prevents you from coming to the surgery and you wish to request a home visit, please telephone 020 8540 0585 between 8.00am and 10.30am unless it is an emergency.
Please be prepared to give some information regarding the nature of the illness. Home visits requested after 10.30am are more difficult for the doctors to arrange efficiently and are for urgent cases only.
Please do not request a home visit unless you really cannot come to the surgery.
