Introducing Morden Hall Medical Centre

Morden Hall (2)

Our Mission Statement

Our practice will provide a high quality, comprehensive and patient-centred service. The practice will be highly professional, efficient and accountable in all its activities.

Practice Objectives:

  • To provide health for our patients in all activities.
  • To ensure the maximum benefit for our patients, whilst being aware of the limit of our resources.
  • To treat all equitably, ensuring that all patients are treated with dignity, respect and compassion.
  • To support and encourage our staff in order to achieve the above.

We are committed to training our staff, medical students and doctors. We work with other organisations to improve the local NHS and to influence local decision-making.

The practice is part of the Sutton & Merton Primary Care Trust who are based at Hamilton Wing, Nelson Hospital, Kingston Road, Raynes Park SW20 8DB.

The practice is part of  the Nelson Commissioning Group, whose function is to commission services for our patients.

Responsibility of Patients

The practice has a zero tolerance policy against any form of verbal or physical abuse towards staff or other patients. The doctors have the right to remove any patient who behaves in a verbally aggressive or intimidating manner towards any member of staff or other patients.

If you would like more information please ask the practice manager.

Patient Confidentiality

We keep patients’ details on computer subject to the provisions of the Data Protection Act. All our staff are fully trained in confidentiality procedures.

Information about you will be disclosed only to other health care professionals who have a need to know in order to provide your medical treatment. No information will be disclosed to any other third party without your written consent.

Notices giving more information about our confidentiality policy are displayed in the reception and waiting areas.

The practice complies with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and information about our FOI publication scheme is displayed in the reception area.

Complaints

Whilst every effort is made to achieve high standards of health care, it is inevitable that there will be rare occasions when our service fails to meet patient expectations. If at any time you feel you need to complain about our service, please ask at reception for a copy of a leaflet which will explain our complaints procedure to you.

Practice Manager

Our practice manager organises the administration and running of the practice. If you have any questions, suggestions or complaints about any non-medical aspects of your care, the practice manager may be able to help sort them out for you.

Whilst we cannot guarantee to solve all your problems, we do genuinely seek your views about the practice and the services we offer.

Medical Students

The practice is a teaching practice and, at times, medical students and other students gaining work experience may be sitting in with a doctor. If, for any reason, you do not wish to see the doctor in the presence of a medical or work experience student, please inform the reception staff. This will not affect your treatment.

The practice is also accredited as a training practice for qualified doctors who will be attached to the practice to enable them to complete their professional training.

We currently have three GP trainers – Dr Patel, Dr Akhtar and Alford.

Disabled

The surgery has been designed with access for the disabled in mind. The surgery entrance, consulting rooms and disabled toilet are suitable for people in wheelchairs.
